Stone Temple Pilots or often in short STP is a rock band originating from San Diego, California United States. Established in 1986 and consists of Scott Weiland (vocals), Robert DeLeo (bass guitar, vocals), Dean DeLeo (guitar), and also Eric kretz (drums, percussion). Wing alternative rock music and also in add a grunge style. almost similar to the Pearl Jam and also Alice in Chains.

Early album Stone Temple Pilot's success in the 1993 with Core.Core, certified 8 × platinum by the RIAA, encouraging the band to fame. STP then became one of rock's most commercially successful in the 1990s, selling nearly 40 million albums worldwide, including 17.5 million units in the United States, before their dissolution in 2003. In the same year, the band won a Grammy for "Best Hard Rock Performance" for the song "Plush" from the album Core. Stone Temple Pilots also ranked  40 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.

Stone Temple Pilots was disbanded in 2003 after Scott Weiland decided to join the Velvet Revolver.
